Migration Chambers is one of three sculptures from my BFA thesis show- Birds- a series of works dealing with internal psychological struggle.
A transcription of an anatomical heart diagram, a series of dying birds fall into the superior vena-cava: where oxygen-less blood flows into the heart. On the other side, a series of birds emerge, alive and colorful, from the aorta, where oxygen full blood comes out of the heart. This piece explores themes of life and death, rebirth, renewal and transformation. It portrays the hearts ability transform bad or "lifeless" matter, into good.
