Answer Anser is one of three sculptures from my BFA thesis show- Birds- a series of works dealing with internal psychological struggle.
Answer Anser is a piece dealing with psychological perceptions when communicating with others. The definition of answer is: "a thing said, written, or done to deal with or as a reaction to a question, statement, or situation." The term anser- is the scientific genus of the goose family. The piece captures a gaze between two geese- undergoing very different circumstances. One shiny goose appears taken aback by the goose covered in tar coming up out of a sewer. Ironically, the tar goose hold the same taken aback or perplexed look that the shiny goose has. The piece plays with the irony of perception and point of view in the communication between people.
